The Ambrosia Wine Hall was first opened by J. Allert & Co., in 1877, at 220 Rundle Street, Adelaide. It was later moved to 242 Rundle Street, as pictured. The building still stands today. It found itself in the hands of Johann Conrad Carl Maass, former Captain of the Saturn, in 1888. There is not really any advertising after that year, but Maass was still in Rundle Street in 1891. He died February 15, 1899, at his residence in North Adelaide. If you would like a full sized image, it is available for download from the State Library of Victoria.
